Born in August 1964, Charlez grew up in a middle-class family as the oldest of three children. With two much younger sisters, he often felt like an only child, navigating his early years with a blend of independence and responsibility. From a young age, Charlez was active in sports, finding solace and confidence in activities like sailing, skiing, football, ice hockey, martial arts, wrestling, and swimming. In 1981, Charlez met the love of his life. Their relationship, marked by deep love and mutual respect, became a cornerstone of his personal happiness and stability. They got engaged in 1984 and married in 1994, raising four children together. Despite the challenges, his marriage has been a constant source of joy and fulfillment.

Transitioning from the navy, Charlez embarked on a career in sales, working in property advisory and intercultural communication. His work took him to different countries, enriching his understanding of various cultures and making him a well-rounded individual. Charlez is a man of many interests. He enjoys wine, food, music, art, and literature.
